Emma and Kate turned one year old on July 2, 2014. I’ve done an awful job of sharing updates this year BUT MAN it went by crazy fast. For their birthday, I invited friends and family over for an ice cream social – a much needed break from the middle of summer heat. The main attraction was a make-your-own ice cream sundae bar with all the toppings you could ever want + more! Here are a few of my favorite Pinterest finds that I used for inspiration for their first birthday party.
I bought these adorable wooden spoons from Sucre Shop on Etsy:
I used this “ice cream” cupcake design as inspiration for their individual “cakes” (I decided to opt out of the smash cake trend):
Here’s how ours turned out:
I didn’t end up having time to do this, but I thought this was a really cute coordinating ice cream cone cake:
This frozen lemonade sherbert punch was also a festive and fun treat for kids and adults at the party:
All in all, it turned out great and I can’t wait to put together another party to celebrate (gasp) year two next July!
