Moving from the city to the suburbs

It’s been almost six months since we moved to Kansas. That also means we’ve been living out of boxes and suitcases at my family’s home. While I love my family to death, I’m ready to be settled in a place of our own. You know, with the plates and cups I haven’t seen since May. It’s about time we started to actually look for our next house.

The hold-up has been with the closing of our condo in Chicago. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel though! It looks like December 4 is our new close date. Hallelujah!

Of course, we’ve been casually looking around, but we started the official house hunt this week. Fortunately, as I mentioned in a previous post, one of my best friends is the owner of Your Future Address. Looking for houses with her is extremely entertaining and informative at the same time. What more could you ask for from your real estate agent?

As I’m factoring in all of the different options, I’m trying to decide exactly what my must-haves are for our new home. We’re not looking for anything grandiose – maybe just something simple like this one…
