I had a chance to visit and work from our new office in Chicago in the John Hancock building this week. Talk about a great view of the city and the lake. The building also has a gym, restaurants, the infamous Signature Room and a grocery store on the 44th floor. Here’s a quick snap from my grocery run over lunch:
Since we haven’t sold our condo just yet, I stayed at our ‘second home’ instead of a hotel. It was great to see everyone from work and my friends, too. We made it a point to have after-work drinks to catch-up. First stop on Tuesday was Lush, a quiet little wine & liquor boutique and tasting bar on Chicago Ave.. It’s right in my old neighborhood West Town/River West. Check out their cool wine glass chandeliers:
The following day we ventured out to Drumbar, a rooftop bar in the Raffaello hotel on the 18th floor. Highly recommended for after-shopping drinks in the city.
Following that, we decided to fill up on some Italian at Bar Toma. Chef Tony Mantuano stopped by our table to say hello to a friend of mine and subsequently sent over an amazing prosciutto Bomba (yes, it’s huge, but so delicious!)
Hard to say goodbye to the city (again), but I’ll be back soon. I am in desperate need of some fall shopping… so I better start saving now!
